The lack of Playin and Dark Star are more than made up for by 1 of only 3 times they played Money, Money!

I jest, but the show is certainly top notch in 74 and is in my top 25 all-time.

Might also be my favorite Black Throated Wind.

I jest, "

I don't. Granted of course it's not in the same universe as Dark Star and Playin but I find that particular version of that tune kicks a$$. And as I've said a million times, I am only one of maybe two or three people who admits liking that tune. To me it is the most unfairly treated tune up there with Day Job. Earth shattering masterpeice? Hardly, but what the hell is wrong with tongue in cheek fun for crying out loud? " lovely to look upon Heaven to Touch it's a real shame they got to cost so much" heck that's allmost up there with " don't shake the tree when the fruit aint ripe". Why am I one of the only ones who finds this funny?

Don't worry Johnny, you're not alone. It's a great little novelty song. I think the fact that some people don't get its satire makes me like it even more.

thanks Bob! It's good to know you're not alone. One more thing about the tune - it's just a re write of the classic money song and who the hell talks sh*t about that one? Check out the Buddy Guy one on Festival Express or even the Beatles version. Pretty much the same song only reworded, no different than the thousand different Stagger Lee's out there. And as far as sexist, how's it different than Dupree's? And who cares if it's sexist or not? It's still funny as hell. Also reminds me how many women though Women are Smarter was some homage to their greatness instead of being a tongue in cheek take on womens ability to manipulate men.

What you said makes me wonder why Weir shelved it, must have been the band not the fans because he has an admitted perverse pleasure in doing things that rub people wrong ( which I like ). Not quite but almost as good as I remember everyone getting their panities in a bunch that the " Dead" ( or Other Ones I think then ) invited Sammy Hagar up for a tune. I thought it was great all the holier than thous got all upset and then look what happened, he killed on Loose Lucy. At least imo.

I have always liked Money Money, I even think it would have been really cool if they turned it into a jam vehicle. Seems to me it could have easily flew off the tracks into jamville!
